coughing, a runny nose ...babysitter called and said his temp is up...100.4 but that he was dancing around then she said he slept for awhile. I could tell he was getting something last night. My cousins kid was coughing all over the place during Thanksgiving. i knew he was going to get it.

Give him lots of fluids (not milk) and maybe run a humidifier (cool air one) in his room. Actually, it depends on the sound of the cough. Sometimes it's better to take them in the bathroom and steam it up with the shower for 15 minutes.... it really depends on the kind of cough. Mucusy, barky, wheezy??
That wasn't very helpful, was it? lol

You might want to stop at the drugstore and get some Save the Baby. It's like Vicks, but not as strong.

Make sure you have tylenol or motrin or whatever works best for him to reduce the fever.

If you have any questions don't be afraid to call the pediatrician's office- even late at night. They usually have an answering service and someone will call you back.

and an aspirin, and keep him well dressed, covered up.

I fought off a crud yesterday and today by drinking unsweetened grape juice, vitamin C and aspirin.

Keep him hydrated and some motrin and/or tylenol if it helps him sleep. Hold him a lot if he wants it. If this is his first bout of having a cold, you probably want to go ahead and take him the doc to see if he has an ear infection.

Good advice. Also, watch out for RSV as that can be a real pain in the ass for younger children.
