I know what you mean. The difference clearly stands out.

    Jake Delhomme 24/35 245 0 2
    J. Clausen 16/28 195 0 1

I am not talking about production I am talking about demeanor. Jake is in control of the team when he plays. He may throw a bunch of picks but he does not give up. He keeps fighting and trying to make plays. Clausen looks like he is so afraid of screwing up that he will not try to make any plays. I am not saying I want Jake back but I do want a leader for our offense and I am not sure Clausen can ever be that kinda player.

Delhomme sucked dick today, and had all year. Clausen, officially, is beginning to learn how to move the ball and make plays.

Fuck Jake---it was all Hillis on checkdowns.

How can you call his play today timid? Did you see the last two pass completions? Namely the last one that put them in position to miraculously win the game?

If Kasay does his job and makes a 42 yard FG with no wind and a good snap, we're all taking about this being JC's big day. He did fine. Not great. But fine.

Jake--if he were our starter today, we would have lost.

Clausen did do fine, not good, but it wasn`t his fault that the Panthers lost today.

I don't care if it looks like steak if it tastes like shit. Fair enough. You take demeanor, I'll take production.

Can't judge Clausen yet. It's still a work, but I saw improvement today. What concerns me, is I don't think we're getting an accurate reading on him yet. THe offense is horrid. He can't keep getting the ball on third and long.

However, I'm beginning to get worried because I see the same thing in and out. Winds up the ball too much, holds the ball forEVER, scrambles when he doesn't need to sometimes, and dumps it off at the first sign of trouble. Takes some unnecessary sacks, too. His pocket awareness looks shaky. Dude can't ever seem to notice a blitzing safety right in front of him...

Overall, it's ok, but if we keep losing and he looks the same, I'm ready to shoot for a top tier quarterback. We can't risk having a shit signal caller going into the next few years...

It'd be nice to have a guy who you feel like could win the game. I've never gotten that feeling from Clausen, and didn't today.

Goodson and smitty give that feeling. At times, when delhomme was good, he gave that feeling.

It's nice to have a qb like that. I hope Clausen will get there - i didn't get the feeling he could win the game for us.
