i don't give smarty marty a pass on our follies either. to each their own, and it's probably something that is never agreed upon. that's why it is a dead horse and it doesn't change anything to beat away on it. i'll sleep just fine if one of those other fine teams that will be in the market for a new coach go the fox route. i will continue to enjoy the great sport of football, even when fox is gone from here. seen all of his tricks already.

I am not going to be hurt when Fox leaves. I am ready to see something new as well. It would be nice to have a good offense consistently for a change. I do however fear that whoever replaces Fox will be a step down from him.

Im sure he'll land on his feet somewhere but do you honestly believe he will fair any better than he has here? His teams have always been streaky and he has yet to provide consistency of 2 winning seasons back to back, benefiting from the weaker schedule of the previous poor season. And lets be honest about that 2003 team, they were on roids.

It sucks that Jerry decided to give up on this year. Im sure he knew he was gonna take alot of flack if things went as bad as they are. But hopefully he has the long term interest at heart and we will see good things next year and its not just a case of him being a tightwad. I just hope it doesnt end with this team imploding and fractured beyond repair. As sucky as we are weve got do find some answers, like does this team have a QB to lead this team forward.

I think its unfair to put all the teams failure on Jerry. Marty and Foxy have been here long enough to assemble enough talent to compete. It is they that have continually failed to find talent at the same spots year after year. It would be ironic if Gettis and LaFell finally make the grade when/if they get the axe.

He has always done well when he had solid QB play. If he goes somewhere that has a solid QB already then he will likely do much better than he did here. I could see him winning a ring in San Diego or maybe even in Dallas.

My fear is that Jerry goes cheap on the next HC and we end up being the doormats we were prior to Fox.

eh. other than the wack job that this year has been, there's not a whole lot of evidence to believe that richardson is the next culverhouse.

In what way, wins and losses or the professionalism of not throwing anyone under the bus?

Jerry brought Fox in, there is no reason to believe he cant bring in another "successfull" HC.

He went cheap when he hired Fox, wasnt he hired on at 1 mill a season to begin with.

And what the hell are you talking about with reguards to solid QB play? You could say that about any team. This is Foxs team, look at the quality of QBs he has brought in, he got lucky with Jake, a streaky coach and a streaky QB found lightning in a bottle 7 years ago. Just remember that was supposed to be Rodney Peetes team. And again most of that oline protecting that solid QBing were on ROIDS.

So your saying he could win a ring with QB like Rivers already in place so he cant fuck it up, AWESOME.

Remember that he wanted both Dungy and Spurier over Fox but they both turned him down. So I don't think it was a situation where he went cheap for the sake of saving a few million bucks a year.

I believe that when JR finds the guy that he thinks is the right person to lead this club, he will pay that person the 'going rate' based upon his prior experience.
