If Peppers wanted to be here, he would have been here, as Hurney (more than twice) tried to make him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL.

He wanted a big market, he got it. And he earned it.

    Actions speak louder than words.

If my boss offered me the highest amount anyone has ever been paid to do do my job, I ask him where to sign.

We offered to make him the highest paid player in football. If he truly wanted to be here, he'd be here. He signed the franchise tender instead.

He is butt-hurt that we didn't engage in a bidding war with Chicago.

I loved his play. We miss him. But it's his choice he isn't here. Fuck him.

    You're both probably right.

I'll miss him too. It stings. But yeah...bottom line is, fuck him.

I'm still just shocked we didn't try this year.

Meh, if Pep wanted to be here he wouldn't have demanded what he did after that Arizona game. Horrible timing, don't care if it was his agent or him, doesn't matter.

After that, the relationship was purely about what can you do for me? We can give him $1 mil a game a season, he can give us 10 sacks. Both seemed happy to part ways and this smells like Pep trying to be the good guy.

Which is why I posted about him running his mouth since he left town. He's so desperate not to be 'misunderstood' now but when he was in Charlotte he was perfectly fine listening to his agent make trade demands a week after getting blown off the field.

Fuck Pep, he's confused. In more ways than one.

Had a right to leave, could have left worse (ala LeBron) but he still could have handled it a LOT better just by being honest. That's probably why he never did interviews in Charlotte, too easy to tell he was full of shit.

I think Meeks would prefer Freeney over Pep, personally. Not saying he had any ounce of influence in the decision, but I don't think we need Peppers to be a good team. We just need 55-60% passing, with limited giveaways. That's the only stick in the spoke that's halting progress.

WHo knows. I think Peppers is the better end overall. I dont think though, that Peppers has mastered showing up in the big games...turning his game to another level when it counts most. Freeney has shown he can take care of that shit...

    Apples v Oranges.

Freeney won't be batting down smoke screens and picking them off, and Peppers won't be utilizing a spin move to smoke a LT.

Both have great qualities, but Meeks would take Freeney, given the scheme and history.

Well...just to qualify, you don't know WHO Meeks would take. He has a year's history with Peppers, and Peppers is a nightmare to scheme against, and can shut down the run, and damn near single handedly win games.

I don't think you're sure what goes on with Meeks, and who he would choose. You say it as fact, but it's speculation. :p
