    A couple of letters to the editor of The Daily Tar Heel...BigVito may snap if he reads the second one:

    To the writer of “Davis must go,” is it Butch’s fault that Marvin Austin took a few trips? The answer is obviously a resounding no. Is it his fault players took help from one tutor? Is that “lack of institutional control,” as defined by the NCAA? Probably not.
    No one in any program can possibly know everything all the time. If no NCAA sanctions result from this investigation, Davis will and should remain our head coach. And it is my hope that the majority of our student body recognizes that this is just a minor speed bump for Coach Davis and his staff on the way to building a great, respectable program here at UNC.

    Butch Davis came to this university to win, not to uphold academic integrity. Although I’m sure we would all like to think he came to make sure everyone on the football team does their homework, I think establishing a foundation for the future of UNC football might be a little higher on the list. If you want academic integrity, go to Duke. I heard that’s worked well for them for the last … eternity. We can’t afford to lose Butch when the ACC is so vulnerable to any team being the new powerhouse.
    I love Butch Davis, I love UNC football, but most importantly I love the combination of those two. My advice to the DTH: Support Butch, support UNC football, and re-evaluate your writing staff and your purpose on this campus.

    Forget John Blake & Butch Davis for a second:

    Let's focus on John Shoop. Dag it, he's the one I want fired. I haven't liked his play-calling since he stepped on campus. Why is it that he completely gets away from something that starts to work? It never fails. Heels start moving the ball with short passes or running, he goes to something else. Davis must have been calling the running plays in the second half against ECU.

    Something seems to have lit a fire. It could all be the USC/Reggie Bush fiasco, but something just doesn't seem right about all the shit that's flying in the background noise.

    I think maybe the Bush stuff lit a fire under the NCAA's ass as to what was going on. I bet there's a ton more of this stuff going on. NCAA can't possibly get to them all.
