I meant the Bobcats from last year with a legit point guard would be pretty good.

i'm really hating this latest twist on free agency. the lebron maneuver certainly will make teams think twice about letting their franchise players become unrestricted free agents. but the problem is with a year left, no team is going to trade away good talent for a guy without getting a commitment first. it would be silly for the nets to land melo only to have him bolt for ny or chicago next year. i mean, figure that the whole reason he is being traded is simply because he's being a primadona about where he wishes to play.

so basically, melo becomes a free agent a year early insofar as he gets to pick his next team. at least the nugs might get something for him in this scenario, but his value will certainly be diminished due to the lack of competition and the rest of the league knowing the nugs are over a barrel.

i hope the next cba will figure out how to fix this.

It has been this way a long time. Zo and Shaq left their small market teams for bigger markets way back in the 90s. The NBA is becoming like MLB where only a few teams can compete.

Sounds like DJ is playing pretty well in the preseason and practice. Maybe he is ready to step up and eliminate our need at PG? I think he has a higher upside than Felton.

DJ has looked really good the two times I've seen him this year. Anxious to see how he looks tomorrow night in person. So far it's night and day from last year, thank goodness.

Saw him dribble drive and hit a nice 12 footer against Miami the other night, I'm not sure I've EVER seen him do that. If he can develop his midrange game with his speed and his outside shot he'll be unstoppable offensively (relatively speaking of course.) He takes it to the rim hard but he's so small it can be tough for him to finish there. If he has the threat of a pull up shot it will make the bigs hesitate and he can either shoot over them, drive around or dish to Nazr behind them.

If DJ has a good year then it will make a huge difference for this team. You can cover up a hole at center by throwing enough big bodies at it and having some dept at the 4 but it is hard to cover up point guard.
