FWIW I don't think he wanted to be a second option anymore, which was probably a big factor in where he would agree to extend with post trade. People also like to forget how often he's hurt.

this is very reasonable and fair. it's also reasonable and fair to wonder why we did nothing though. obviously we are willing to wheel and deal picks, but i guess the thrill of gambling in the draft is more appealing than actually getting better. i just don't see the strategy of expecting rookies to make a team better at a position that is notorious for busts and delayed return on investment. we looked as bad as last year, if not worse, in the air on sunday.

I don't know about blowouts, but I think there's a fair shot of 34/28 racking up about 700 carries between the two of them, and an average elapsed game time of 3 hours or less.

Agreed. Talk about kryptonite. They're not much better on QBs, either.

Sounds like something Banks would say. Being an ex-Giants linebacker from the glory days, CB tends to speak his mind.

Hard? Not at all. Costly? Very.

And frankly, they haven't had the best of luck with FA receivers, either.

Respectfully disagree. Otah's forte is run blocking, not pass protection.

LaFell is showing the same things I saw in him at LSU. He's fine in space, but he gets alligator arms in traffic. The media kept hyping him up as a Moose-esque blocking possession receiver, but he's not. Not yet, anyway, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Because drafted WR busts are cheaper than free agent WR busts?

Kevin Mawae just retired because he couldn't get a sniff in free agency. He told Sirius it was because he hasn't shied away from telling folks he believes the owners are colluding against the NFLPA. If he's right, JR may very well be the kingpin.

    High-priced and injury-prone?

    That's a hell of a good point.
