Does anybody drink it? If so, why is a single malt preferred over say, anything else? I had a bad experience with Scotch in my 20's, and never have tried it again. Didn't get drunk, just puked my guts out from the taste and seems like I could taste it for about a week. I don't personally know anybody that drinks it. Wondering if I should try one shot of single malt just to see what all the raving is about - at least in the movies.

I'm sure some spambot will come in here about 2 am and tell me what it is.

Coincidentally I've been wanting to try a single malt. I drink Johnnie Walker red for everyday.
BTW, I priced Johnny Walker blue the other day....$215+ a fifth!

Hope somebody will recommend a good, medium priced single malt scotch.

Scotch is like black licorice and Root beer. You either like it or not. No in between. I hate it

I'll drink it occasionally, on the rocks. I like it, but I like the irish whisky better, bushmills in particular. again, only occasionally. :N1IneeddrugsHL4:

What brand of Scotch? Can you go into a bar and order a glass of single malt on the rocks, could they recommend something? Think a bartender in Hickory, NC would even know what a single malt scotch was?

I found something, I think I'm gonna see if I can just go into a liquor store and see if they have a mini bottle or half pint of something they can recommend. I googled this one:

    I'm not fond of scotch.
I prefer good Canadian whiskey :mushy:

I've heard it said you have to develop a taste for scotch. [Seems like that might go for most liquor.] Anyhow, I took to it like a duck to water.
