I bought 1,000 shares of Ford stock when it was about 1.58 a share. My stock broker asked me if I was crazy but I got the last laugh when it it 16.00 a year later. Hell yea I would buy BP stock when it tanks.

Trace is waiting until his AIG stock skyrockets before he comes back to TBR to throw it in our face.

I think BP is gonna be fine.

They've been giving about $40 billion per year in dividends, they just suspended that. That's double what they put in escrow, but they can cover that by 1 year of suspended dividend.

Also, their market cap has declined by double THAT - about $90 billion.

No way they get a bailout, no way they need one. Nothing leveraged, no legacy healthcare costs or fucked up unions. They're a cash machine and will continue to be.

I hope so. It's one of the few stocks I bought outright, outside a mutual fund.

I don't mind no dividends so much if the stock's value doesn't diminish to the point that I lose my ass selling if I have to.

Yep, looks like, at least in the last three years, the highest it's been is around $14.5.

I was wrong on the dividend - its been 10 billion per year, not quarter.

Either way - they got the $$.
