    the rub and sauce look good, if you try slow cooking it at low temp, you will be even happier.

    I normally would have cooked it much longer but that BB was small. I turned out pretty tender and flaky. the bone pulled right out of the meat no problem.

    the sauce is pretty much what chipshot had just a few tweaks. mainly used crushed red pepper instead of flakes so the sauce would come out of the bottle without getting clogged up by pepper flakes.

    gridshrapnel would have been going apeshit over this stuff :mdrbig:

    and edit to add I haven't smoked any butts in almost a month now. You guys are killing me

    flower pots were a fail. the hotplates we tried could not generate enough heat for a 10 hour smoke. needed another 4-8 in this smokers. had to finish butts in my oven at home, final result was good eats.

    10 hrs is too short for a butt regardless of temp IMO. Even with a charcoal setup where keeping the temp down is the challenge we go 18 hrs typically.

    Seems to me that flower pot setup is just right.

    YEP YEP on Garys! I don't care for the vinegar sauce, but you can just put on the thick sauce.

    we could not get it higher than 180-190 degrees. we were hoping for 220.
