The USA Today I got yesterday has a much more flattering first page. Did they stay up late to get all the Duke coverage?

Do you think the Observer would have stayed up late to make sure to get great coverage on a local team winning the Championship? Do you think they did last year?

I just think there's more overall interest in UNC's basketball program. The Observer may be biased. I'm sure they would deny it. Let me put it this way. Last year, after UNC's victory, I went out and bought an Observer. This year, it never occured to me to buy one.

I know the UNC Championship one you show was the City edition. The one I received at home of had a similar to the one on the right. Looks like an early edition. Of course, with all the budget cuts, it may be the only edition of the CO these days. Pretty normal shit and pretty normal to see folks get pissed out of ignorance, too.

You're a microcosm for America. And clearly pandering to you is doing wonders for the Observer business.

Who's pissed? I'm just pointing out the obvious. It's not like this is some sort of new treatment.

I know you're a tarheel, and you're usually fairly unbiased in all of these kinds of discussions, but the history of the Observer putting Chapel Hill first is sad, ridiculous and unwarrented.

Mike Persinger has stated "facts" and then had them disputed with hard evidence to the contrary for years in niner land.

They are a tarheel propaganda machine.

maybe the fact that unc vs. michigan st was over ten minutes into the game gave the CO a heads up to get their shit together. duke butler went down to the final seconds. deadlines were tight

maybe the fact that UNC school of Journalism is pretty well known and the CO has a few working for them. Its nothing new BTW.

bottom line, who fuckin cares. buy the derm paper if you want something to keep
