I really don't see how Baylor was inferior to Duke. Baylor was more athletic and for once, they had the size to go against Duke. Duke has 3 guys that combine for about 53 points a game, while the 2 guards for Baylor can easily score and go off for 50 just those 2. Before Sunday, I would say that any of the 3 can struggle and Duke can win except for Singler. I felt that he was the most important of the 3, but Nolan Smith stepped up huge. Scheyer came out of the slump just as he did against Purdue. Let me say this about the "easy" bracket Duke had... They defeated the reg. season champ from the "down" Pac-10 and the other team from Pac-10 defeated a tough Marquette team and took WV to the limit and lost by 4. Duke then beat a Purdue team that tied for 1st and was in the running for a 1 seed. They even played great and tough without Hummel. Duke played a road game against a Baylor team that tied behind Kansas for 2nd with another team that everybody was saying was great. They tied K-State & Texas A&M for 2nd. Baylor wasn't given the credit and due that K-State was, but Baylor was just as good as them. Texas A&M was also in Duke's bracket so there. The weak team that got a high seed in Duke's bracket was Nova. They were the 2. Look at New Mexico getting a 3 in Kentucky's bracket. How about Kansas supposedly getting the toughest bracket and then losing to one of the teams nobody was saying would give them trouble. Syracuse had 3 teams in their bracket to have a chance to give them trouble... Butler, Xavier, & K-State. I'm just sick of people acting like whomever wins this year's tournament should not feel like a champ. You play who is put in front of you no matter what else is going on. 6 games is the key. Who can win 6 games in a row at the end of the year.

As for Huggins being 2-1 against Duke.. I know few years ago when Duke should've lost in 1st round to Belmont, WV finished them off in 2nd round and back in the 90s in the Alaskan shootout I believe they pulled off a great out of bounds play with few seconds left to beat Duke. I think coach's prior records vs. someone is overrated. What matters is the then and there. Mike Krzyzewski is 11-1 now in Elite 8's, but that isn't what won the game Sunday. It was the leadership and veteran players that stepped up for Duke and knocked down shots, free throws, grabbed rebounds, and played defense.

 

It was a good win. Don't try to make it any more than that.

You're the one that picked Baylor to win that game. Don't act like you knew all along Duke was the much better team. After they beat WV, I'm sure you'll say WV was inferior to Duke all along too.
