Charlotte's Next Coach...

I can't believe how many people are sad Bobby is gone. He's a great guy, but jesus christ, we got worse year over year under this guy.

Bobby's first year - #5 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Bobby's last year - 5 years removed from even making the tournament.

He was not a good coach, he was a mediocre coach and he was running the program into the ground. He should have been fired 3 years ago.

 

He took over a loaded team with great incoming recruits, thanks to Melvin Watkins. Once playing with all his own "talent" he failed miserably. He picked up a couple good players on his own but that was mostly due to the success of the program before he took over.

The next guy could be worse but at least they're trying to get better, which beats settling for Lutz.

 

I will always remember what a very well respected basketball person in the Charlotte area told me when Lutz took over. He said 'Bobby's downfall will be that he can't evaluate talent and is too stuborn to change'.

 

I hate it for Bobby the person that I've interacted with. Always been a really nice guy. BUt I love it for Charlotte's program. He was killing something great. If and when we start winning again, people will understand what a drain Bobby was. I think the fanbase has stockhole syndrome.

 

Let's not get carried away.
