    I wish UNC hadn't accepted the NIT bit. Not slighting the NIT, I'm slighting this years UNC team.

    Going to be different this year not watching the NCAA's (like when Doherty was the coach). Other than hoping for an early Dook exit I don't have any interest in it.

    That would have been stupid. No school is above an NIT invitation. They won't win it, they may even lose at home to W&M tomorrow night but you keep playing basketball. Losing won't make their season any worse than it already is.

    Back when UNC won the NIT in the early seventies, the NIT was a big deal. Now, it appears the NCAA is going to expand to 96 teams which will water it down even more or completely do away with it.

    I agree, the only thing ridiculous was the seeding. It's another game or more that the freshman get to practice and play in and get that much more experience and ability to mesh together. At the same time, maybe some sort of pride will be instilled during the tournament.
