I can't either. I know that a lot of talent passed through Kansas, but Roy never had a year like he has had this year. I remember growing up people used to say that Kansas' record was stacked because of the weak Big 12. If you take that logic and look at the weak ACC this year, UNC's record is all the more strange.

I know they lost a ton of talent but as others have said, frankly UNC was lucky to get back who they had last year. Lawson could have gone pro either of his first two years, and it was obvious that Drew was a weak link last year when Lawson went down.

I don't understand why UNC didn't bring in a PG, of course I've wondered the same thing about Duke since about 2002 so maybe parity is really starting to have an effect.

Roy's lack of attention to begin the year on the team and on his book was the beginning of what looked like a rough year. He seemed too concern about that instead of the team. In my opinion, books are what coaches do when they retire. He was doing book signings right up to the start of the season.

The Lawson reply is irrelevant, he came back and led them to a NC. Roy's take was that Drew didn't get enough time in, and thought he would be fine running things for 1 year. It didn't really matter, he didn't have a scholarship to give anyway (he's currently over 1 for next year)

It's been a rough year, but I'll take it every year after they win the National Championship. If Roy stepped up his ability more and they didn't have so many injuries this year would have still been bad, just not miserable.

Ed Davis was clearly their best player and his loss was major but the season was already tanking at that point.

The ultimate trump card is they are defending National Champions and that's something few teams in the league have ever experienced. I think most college kids in the ACC would take a 'down year and 16-16' for a ring. I know I would.

Agreed, he may have helped them win 2 or 3 more games, the ones that were close, but that's about it.

Isn't Chapel Hill 16-16? Not sure they would be a higher seed anywhere.

    EDIT:

WTF? Evidently replied to wrong thread. Carry on.
