Tell that to Chicago who seemingly is buying everyone they run across.

This is going to be a weird year.

So, are they trying to be the Redskins of this year?

With other good players being canned around the league beacause of high priced salaries over the next few days, a coupla teams will sign a bunch of really good players not caring about the $, not having to worry about a cap this year and will try and buy a championship. Then suck bad in 2011, if there is a 2011 season.

Richardson shedding excess so he can sell the team and move it to Los Angeles. Or Oklahoma City.

Damn, I hope the SeaChikins have a good year so I can jump on the bandwagon and divorce the Panthers.

I love how dumping big salaries in a year where it's really easy to do so, and that we have young players at all the spots we dumped, is somehow conspiracy theory fodder.

Is there any chance of a quasi collusion play here - release all the high priced aging talent, then sign them or replacements for pennies on the dollar because aside from a couple of dumbass franchises, no one's gonna spend any money?

I think the FA pool this offseason will have the least amount of bargaining power in like forever... between the economy and teams not wanting to load up on contracts with the CBA uncertainty...

Certainly, after a few weeks, there'll be a lot of guys who'll be looking at minimum deals, or minimum with a buy-in second or second to third year type deals.

It's damn sure a cheap time to get guys if they last, and the few teams that spend will have to peter out. You hate to spend an extra $80 million and finish a game better.

I mean, I half expect teams like Tampa to just cut all vets. For us, there's a cheapening factor maybe, but we're also prepared for most of it.
