No. I don't think that BB is afraid to call out a player. But I do believe that he has a different set of rules for certain players. And in this case, he knew that calling out Moss for playing like shit would do more harm than good.

Hurt or not hurt, one catch and a fumble when you have #12 throwing the ball is embarassing for a player of his ability.

You're right, he should never have a bad game, ever...especially when he is playing hurt. You clearly know more than BB, so my bad.

A game like that? Where he is completely taken out of it? No. If he was healthy enough to suit up, he is healthy enough to play better than that. By that point in the season, every player in the NFL is playing with some kind of injury. This guy is one of the greatest wide receivers of all time and he got shut down by Chris Gamble and Richard Marshall? Injuries affect players, but I just don't buy that he played like that simply because of his shoulder.

And no, i know I dont know more than Belichick. I do, however, completely agree with how he handled it. Like I said, calling him out would have done more bad than good. So he took up for his player and deflected the attention to an opposing player that simply answered a question after the game.

If you don't think that there is more than one set of rules in that locker room, you are fooling yourself.

...Let's just sum this up by saying no one here gives a horse shit about the New England Patriots. I believe they probably have their own message board.

Did anyone else hear Adam Schein go off about Peppers a couple of days ago on Sirius?

    "...he's a half-hearted player"
"I wouldn't have him on my team..."
"The only locker room in the league who could keep him playing close to his potential is New England..."

    That was the milder stuff.

[IMG] Julius Peppers-DL-PanthersFeb. 21 - 12:23 pm et [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]Multiple league sources tell the Boston Globe that free agent Julius Peppers is too big a risk for any team to invest in long term.
"I wouldn’t touch him," said an ex-Panthers personnel man. "On the field, he’s a freak athletically, but it’s whether he shows up or not. He’ll go two and three games and do nothing but take up space. Then he’ll have two sacks, a forced fumble, a pick, and change the game." According to an AFC scout, Peppers "could end up costing some personnel guy his job...If you pay this guy, I don’t think you’ll see a double-digit sack [season] again the rest of his career."

Yup. If he were to get paid he would kick-back and coast . .. if he doesn't he'll have to settle for a much shorter deal and MIGHT have an early spurt this year of "I'll show you F'ers" games, and then coast. Then sounds like everyone will be sitting a year . .. Then he'll be too old to garner any serious attention at a decent extension or long-term deal. He really should have taken that best deal our guys offered.

GREED is a bitch huh julie?

BTW - I still believe that he & Carey could screw around and julie might not from see a full season of play this year . . . and it's also possible that he doesn't play at all (not likely, but possible).
