But peppers was already offered the highest contract and declined. I think it's honorable, he certainly has never been lowballed. Pep doesn't want to be here unless he us persuaded with stupid money. Jerry doesn't want to play that game for several reasons. None of which are him being cheap. He's given him all respect and opportunities to be a lifelong Panther.

That's not the debate. I'm saying if Richardson would willingly sacrifice his own team for the sake of setting a league/union point, I have a problem. I know he's the one invested in the team, but the fans bought PSL. they bought tickets. The bought expensive concessions. They buy the clothes and other accessories. EVERY last one of them want everything done necessary to build a championship. I've got a problem if we're the example. See the problem with being the example is in today's times, its useless. Because even if we don't give a player his money, someone will, and what example does that set? If the owners were unified and NO owner would pay Peppers I could understand that because it shows the owners setting a true example. Any other way only hurts this team and this team only.

He will be a nice addition to a young, talented New England defense.

yes, I'd LOVE for the peppers to play (occasionally, when he feels like it) for the pats and rape them financially :20_3_5:

I hope he does go to New England, far away from the NFC!

Would have him go there than Philly or (worse) Atlanta!

I have no way to know JR's motivations but if he lets Peppers walk I will not feel like he is letting the team down. Overpaying for players generally does not help a team. The Redskins have tried to buy a championship for ten years and done little more than a couple of wild card games and only then when they lured a hall of fame coach out of retirement.

Peppers is not a leader. He does not "bring it" every game. He is not worth a deal that rivals an elite QB. If he will sign for something similar to what Jared Allen got then fine do it but if he wants to be the highest paid guy in the league then let someone else pay him. We can take he money we save by letting him walk and lock up guys like Beason and Davis and still sign some players to help us out maybe even a solid WR.

I really hadn't thought about this angle, but as one of those PSL owners, it's a bit disturbing. I could look at it as JR is also trying to keep the fans being held hostage by players/agents, which isn't a bad thing. Athletes are obscenely over paid, and that part of going to games & supporting those salaries has ALWAYS bothered me.

This said by someone who is getting pressure from husband to sell PSL's and will be hunting a part time job after my dental appt this morning.

Dear Julius & company, walk a mile in my shoes or the shoes of homeless folks who are still hard workers hit by the economy. Or Haitians. I would add New Orlean citizens, but now that they got their SB, it's time for them to move on and declare Katrina over. :sign0090:
