Yeah, and Davis has injury marks if someone gives us a first for Marshall I'd take Perrish Cox and not look back.

I think Jared Allen got $73 million over 6 years. I would not go any higher than that for Peppers. He is not as productive as Allen.

or as young . .. peppers is going to be a few years older than both allen and haynesworth when (IF) he signs this year, and to expect a contract for the same amount of years (or more) does not make sense. He'll be even less productive when he hits 34, 35, and 36 won't he . . . hell, I predict that he would get MUCH less productive just as soon as he cashes in

If we gave him the haynesworth contract word for word it actually wouldn't be so bad considering how ridiculously inflated it is.

I wouldn't go any higher, but I don't know that he is that far behind Allen.

Allen also has 2 huge DTs to help draw some attention and had a pretty productive offense for most of the season. You know the story with Peppers. If you're looking at sack totals, Allen went 8 games last year without a sack. Peppers had 7.

    Jarred Allen 2009 stats
    51 tackles
14.5 sacks (4.5 came in one game vs Green Bay)
    1 interception
    5 Forced Fumbles

last 2 playoff games 1 sack.

    Julius Peppers 2009 stats
    45 tackles
    10 sacks
    5 Forced Fumbles
    2 Interceptions.

    Jarred Allen 2008 stats
    54 tackles
    14.5 sacks
    3 forced fumbles.

    Julius Peppers 2008 stats
    51 tackles
    14.5 sacks
    5 forced fumbles

I thought it was his passion. Or his love of going for the QBs knees.

growing consensus - panthers will let peppers walk

    http://www.heraldonline.com/247/story/1943725.html

would HATE getting zip for the peppers (comp 3rd next year maybe) but I love the stance of Richardson in Gantts article above (assuming it's true)

I'd never heard the story of him sticking with the shield before.

Really? Gantt mentions it fairly often.
