If you go from starting Peppers at RDE to starting Everett Brown how much do you really lose? I think it is not out of line to think Brown capable of a ten plus sack season. He will not be as good in run support and wont have that one or two games a year where he is dominant but on average I think we still get some pass rush from that spot and the overall D does not degrade a whole lot. If you bring in some situtational guys with the money you save you probably do not miss him much. Adding a good WR to take some heat off Smith probably does more for our team than bring back Peppers.

What are you basing this on? I mean seriously other than hope and your constant dislike of peppers what is this based on? You can ask chiefs fans how well losing their premier pass rusher worked out.

If anybody is going to be replacing Peppers, it is going to be Johnson.

Brown had 16 pressures in limited playing time.

Profootballtalk has just reported that we're not taging Peppers. Of course we all knew this but lets look at the bright side......

There isnt one!........no seriously, after 2 years, we're finally gonna have cap room to sign or re-sign guys

Also, I'll give credit to the front office.....we drafted his replacement last year in Everette Brown

If Brown starts and has a good year next year then the trade we made will look brilliant. Obviously he has a lot to prove but I feel pretty good about his chance to be a solid pass rusher.

Agreed. Brown and Johnson will do just fine. Sure they'll be a bit of a drop off, but certainly having the extra 20 million dollars to spend will more than make up for this.
