3-4 Linebackers don't get DE money. He needs to stay at DE and I fully expect him to. I can't imagine why any team would pay anywhere near what he will want in order to put him in a new position.

true, he won't be switching to LB . .. either he is an idiot for not dropping that whole idea (&/or his agent is)

Ware got a pretty large deal. I would think he would be the measuring stick that they would use to judge Pepper's worth as a linebacker in a 3-4.

    From Rumor Central on ESPN:

The big question related to Julius Peppers now is not who wants to sign him, but who doesn't.

Following the weekend's developments, one could argue for just about any team to sign him, as he has been dominant as a DE in a 4-3 setting, but has indicated he wants to play in a 3-4 in the future. Beat writer Darin Gantt called the Eagles and Pats the favorites at this early juncture, but noted on Twitter that it'll likely take "a first and change" to land him in trade, not to mention Peppers will want a massive deal, somewhere in the range of $15 million per season according to earlier speculation.

In addition to the three teams at right, another team that might pass is the Dallas Cowboys. All three scribes that responded to a Peppers-related query on DallasCowboys.com insinuated that the move wouldn't make sense for the 'Boys, given DeMarcus Ware and his cronies.

    fwiw...

I don't think Dallas can trade for him, given they were top 8.

The top8 stuff doesn't deny trades or restricted FA moves.

I thought it did deny trades based on the value of the player.

Everything I can find refers only to unrestricted free agents.

FWIW, I think other teams value him.

He's been consistently ( maybe not weekly ) one of the premier DE's in the league for 8 years. 5 pro bowls.

If he's UFA, he's the top UFA, period.

What did haynesworth get, $$ wise?

7 years, 100 million 41 million guaranteed, but there are some huge bonuses that make it unlikely to last past 4 years and 48 million.
