Reggie Wilkins (qb,kr,cb) of Shelby Crest committed to UNC again today. He had given a verbal to the Tar Heels during the season then switched to a commitment for NC State. I wonder if he changes his mind again between now and signing day ?

 

wtf. NCAA needs to do something about recruiting and the circus

 

Why? If coaches can leave whenever they want even after signing a deal, then why shouldn't these kids be able to change their minds before signing anything? At least you don't have to worry about these 18yr old kids screwing your program by leaving sanctions in their wake.

The only thing that gets on my nerves, is the whole hat game. I can do without all that manufactured drama.

Fingers crossed for Bernard. I believe it's down to UNC and Oregon State. Scout says that Gainer doesn't even have an offer, but I find that a bit hard to believe.

 

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- North Carolina will hold its Blue-White Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 10 at 3 p.m., and for the first time in school history, the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.

Admission to the Blue-White Game is free.

Head coach Butch Davis will divide the teams into two squads and the Tar Heels will play four 12-minute quarters. Many other game-day events and activities are currently being planned.

"The Blue-White Game is an excellent opportunity to showcase our football program and we are thrilled ESPN has chosen to telecast our contest," said Davis, who welcomes back 19 starters from last year's eight-win team. "In addition to the returning upperclassmen, the game also will feature several young players who will make a significant impact this season. This will be the first glimpse at the 2010 Tar Heels and I encourage all Carolina fans to pack Kenan Stadium on April 10. Your participation, energy and enthusiasm continues to make a significant impact on our success."

The Blue-White Game is the 15th and final spring practice date for the Tar Heels, who begin spring workouts on March 15. Carolina's 19 returning starters include all-star candidates Marvin Austin (DT), Robert Quinn (DE), Bruce Carter (LB), Quan Sturdivant (LB), Kendric Burney (CB), Deunta Williams (S), Zack Pianalto (TE) and Greg Little (WR). Austin, Carter, and Sturdivant have all been listed as the No. 1 NFL draft prospects at their respective positions by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. Last year, Carolina finished No. 6 nationally in total defense, won eight games for the second consecutive season and earned a second straight bowl bid.

"Carolina students are excited about the prospects of a great football season in 2010 and the Blue-White Spring Football Game will be a great kickoff event," said John Russell, a senior at UNC and president of the Carolina Athletic Association. "The Tar Pit student section has been a huge success and we are excited about having a chance to have it rocking again on April 10th for the ESPN telecast. With all our underclassman returning for their senior year, the student body is even more fired up about Carolina football."

ESPN, which reaches more than 99 million households, will televise the events from Kenan Stadium from 3-5 p.m. The network's on-air commentators for the Blue-White Game have not yet been determined.
