It's not an attack on a Duke player but to call drafting a dookie a 'homer pick' to appease the fanbase is ridiculous. This team doesn't play in NJ (yet) and the pick of Henderson wasn't a homer pick. If it was, he wouldn't be getting booed at home before he even suits up.

Again, you only mention the comment as if I said Duke only, funny how that works out. It's pretty damn funny that it's to appease the fanbase when it's UNC players being drafted, but that's certainly not the case when it comes to a Duke player. :sleep1:

    lol 'Duke fanbase'

Anyway, this all means jack and shit. We're all disappointed with how they have drafted as a franchise, and it doesn't seem to matter if the player comes from two hours away or twenty states away.

If we want to talk 'true' homer draft picks, in my mind there was only one. Sean May.

Raymond was a good pick and at the time seemed about as likely to be a star as Paul or Williams. Wright was drafted for Golden State, and Henderson was drafted for his athletic ability in a weak draft.

Agreed! Sean May was clearly drafted just to try to pull UNC-CH fans into the stadium and was a farce. May and Ajinca are killing us right now as that is two first-round picks we have gotten nothing from. BTW, Derrick Brown seems to be a good pick and a guy that could develop into a borderline starter/very good depth down the road.

I think that is why you are down on Henderson. It is just childish to suggest that they should have taken Ellington instead of Henderson and then accuse them of taking too many homer picks.

I'm a Duke fan and down on Henderson too. I think anyone expecting him to have a huge impact this year had very unrealistic expectations. He wasn't that great in college, why would he all of a sudden start in the NBA?

He certainly wasn't drafted to 'appease' a fanbase that despises him personally for breaking Hansbrough's nose. Let's get real. Any appeasing of the 'Duke fanbase' just pisses off 90% of the 'Bobcat fanbase.'

I am down on Henderson because he is the most recent lottery draft pick that is doing jack shit. No, I don't expect him to be great or even a starter at this point, but I certainly would expect him to do better than the Bobcats 40th pick from the same draft class.

Sure there have been MANY bust as drafting goes for this team. Sean May has been a bust, the fucker couldn't ever stay healthy. Ajinca made absolutely no since as a pick. Morrison would probably be my biggest bust on the team, considering the spot he was drafted.
