I agree. My first 2 tapes (got them at the same time) were Grand Master FLash and the Furious Five and U2 Live at RedRocks.

That's the thing. When he got all celebrity I lost a lot of interest in the group. That and Edge has to be 1 of the top ten over rated guitar players

Pretty much any artistic person is going to disagree with your political point of view.

    Except for this guy:

Edge has always been just a rhythm guitarist. Not sure who you think overrated him.

Rolling Stone for one, which has him as the 24th rated guitarist of all-time. some of those RS ranks behind him: Mark Knopfler, Buddy Guy, Brian May, Pete Townsend, Joe Perry, Ritchie Blackmore, eddie van halen, david gilmour, angus Young

RS ranks Duane Allman second best all-time (huh?) and has Gilmour 82nd, behind Joni Mitchell (72). Joan Fucking Jett is ranked 87th, ahead of Angus Young (96th). alex lifeson is not even on the list.

so, yeah, I'd say the Edge is more than a little overrated in this instance.

Well, I would agree with you in that case. He has laid down some creative backing tracks, but he is not the kind of guy to give you an Eddie Van Halen solo. I suppose it turns into how you define "best" guitarist.

Joni Mitchell? Give me a break. Proves Rolling Stone is irrelevant.
