not having Draughn down the stretch and having to use Yates is difficult. I'm not sure what he could've done besides not run an end around every other play.

That's understandable, but you really have to look at the overall picture. It does take at least 5 years to build a football program, to include your redshit system and getting your first full class to seniors.

UNC does still have some major gaps to fill, mainly on offense. They lost a lot of major skill talent last year without much to fill that void other than Little. Not to mention the injury issues as well, but they just didn't have the replacements/depth for that either. Yates is an average QB at best, and even worse with what he has to work with.

Just a little FYI, the current class breakdown is below per ESPN:

    34 Freshmen
    33 Sophomores
    31 Juniors
    13 Seniors

Not sure how the redshirts are counted in this? I am guessing just whatever year they are the redshirt from.

the concerning part right now is Davis's recruiting class coming up is weak thus far. He will need to get a few stellar commits come signing day to salvage it.

well, that's part of my issue. Deep in your own territory trying to get cute. You can't call a play that says "this will bring this guy back to good health", but you don't call too many tricks. And get rid of that pistol shit.

I agree with your post but there is no excuse for a Division I football program to be so horrible at the tailback position. My god, I'm faster than Ryan Houston.

Well injuries and being pretty damn young at that position didn't help.

Draughn injured, and while not great, is better than Houston.

Womble out and then Blue redshirted I think, because UNC thougth they had depth until all the injuries.

Really the biggest concern right now is what Franchise mentioned, the incoming class doesn't look all that good to this point. A win in the bowl game would have helped to draw more interest, the loss can only hurt that.
