I've yet to try it. I'm curious about it. How is it different from the previous subscription version? I know they cut out some tools to be an AV only product, and frankly that's fine, but the earlier product was just "ok" as an AV. How is the newer version.

my mcafee expired also.. i installed road runners CA software....it screwed both of my comps up,, i ended up reformatting 1 ..and re-installing the original software and O/S on the other one....

AVG didnt help either one of them either.... actually i liked AVG a few years ago when it was always free....

i'm using the nortons that came with the computer for the next 90 days...
its working good so far ....

I see many posts about Norton but I have never had any issues in over 10 years. Using 360 version 3.5 for 7 at the moment. I run Malwarebytes once a month but it rarely finds anything.

it's like the big name applications try to insinuate themselves into every operation so they can claim to be "comprehensive" instead of just good. probably doesn't hurt marketing if they pop up something every once in a while to let you know they're "protecting" you. and of course, how in the world are norton/et al served by having a simple un-install procedure?

I use webroot spysweeper and antivirus. It's non-invasive (and doesn't take 10 minutes to load at startup) and I haven't had a spyware/virus problem in 2 years. 20 bucks a year, and well worth it.
