Dip a Nutter Butter cookie in melted white chocolate almost, but not quite, halfway. Lay it on waxed paper to dry. This is the beard.

Once the chocolate is dry, dip the other end almost halfway. This is the hat end, and you want to leave just enough bare cookie between the two chocolate-coated ends for the face. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle red sugar on all but the strip just above the face part--creating the white band of the hat. After the chocolate hardens, put a little blob of white chocolate on the top of the red part for the ball of the hat.

I usually use melted chocolate and a toothpick to make eyes and a nose.
They are really cute. You make elves with green sugar and make a milk chocolate beard, too.

I would show a picture but it keeps saying my files are invalid when I try to load them. :furious:

What do you dip the "other end" in? Dipped in chocolate won't give it red for the hat.

I always do--30 seconds at the time to be sure I don't burn it.

I add a bit of oil to the white chocolate when I microwave it. Makes it more creamy.
