I was wondering this morning whether they are really hurt or if RBs like them just don't need to practice. Especially with Williams, seems they just hand him the ball and he runs where he can based on his own insticts.

JStew has the achilles and DW has a knee issue. They are banged up. I give them credit for playing as hard as they do regardless of the score or play calling.

Another plan that fucks over DT.

I do not think a rotation of Lewis, Thomas, Tyler and either Leonard or Irvin would suck. It is not our defense that is killing us anyway.

Can we aim a little higher than 'not sucking'?

apparently "sucking" is what the current FO is aiming for at several positions

    - Fire Jeff Davidson and hire Charlie Weis as OC, effective at the end of week 17.

    - Put Jake on IR, start Moore, and sign Cantwell to the active roster.

    - Put Meeks on notice; if tackling doesn't drastically improve by season's end, he may not be around to fix it next year.

    - Have a serious, heart-to-heart with Peppers and his agent. If he wants to be here, we iron out a long term deal. If he doesn't, we let him walk.

    - Fire Danny Crossman and promote ST asst. Jeff Rodgers to the coordinator position.

    - Have a serious heart-to-heart with the directors of pro and college scouting and find out what they need to get significantly better. If it's resources, great. If it's bodies, fine. If they don't know, they're gone (this applies more to college scouting than pro).

    - Find out if Rhys Lloyd can kick field goals. If he can, great. If not, quit screwing around and find a kicker who can turn those 2 roster spots back into 1.

    - Cut Gary Barnidge and sign TE Bear Pascoe from the Giants practice squad. He's a perfect fit for our offense.

    - Come up with a better contingency plan for DT. Achilles recovery for a man Kemo's size is iffy. Hollis Thomas is good, but old and injury-prone. I don't know how Tank Tyler is doing. Re-sign Louis Leonard (y'all said he looked pretty good while he played). Scour the NFL, NCAA, CFL, and UFL for run-stuffing DTs.

I'd start with that and see how it goes. Fox stays if he agrees to the changes. If not, he's gone. I'd prefer that Jake retire as a Panther and ride off into the sunset rather than cut him unceremoniously. Better for him, better for the team, better for the franchise, and better for the fans.

That would be nice but with lots of holes to fill on offense and limited means for filling them getting by with not sucking would be OK with me at DT.
