    I don't have problems with my laptop either and I do have quite a few programs on it, but I have plenty of RAM. That could be William's issue.... Vista is a RAM hog.

    Vista is a little bit of a hog, if you don't have 2GB of RAM that's a very worthwhile upgrade given that it costs next to nothing today. But I'd spend the same $$ on upgrading to Win7, it uses far less RAM and is just plain better in every way.

    That said, if you're not running some insanely low amount of RAM, I'd bet there's spyware/trojanware/crapware on the box. Hangs like that can be from the crapware associated with IE which is associated with Explorer.

    thanks yo....

    i have 2+g or RAM and have been thinking spyware/trojanware/crapware, i need to find a good free removal software. AVAST didn't find anything.

    i use avast and i run spybot as well. spybot will find spyware and such.
