    Obviously he knows what its like being a defender in that lockerroom.

    Belichick may not be trying to send the message that he doesn't have faith in the defense, but that's what it is seen as.

    nothing. giving the ball back to manning is like saying lets play D against michael jordan. sometimes you have to take your chances with the D though.

    more than the 4th down call to me though was the fact that they threw the ball 3x on that last series. they should have run the clock and the situation might have been different.

    so should Fox have gone with an on-side kick in the SB instead of trusting Kasay and the D? that would have taken some balls. and we woulda done more than just go apeshit.

    Chuck Noll made a similar decision (albeit his team was past midfield and there was less time left) in the Super Bowl and it failed, giving Dallas another crack on offense. After they stopped Dallas, Steelers players said that it showed the confidence that Noll had in his defense. Had New England made a stop, I'm guessing Bruschi and Harrison would be saying something along those lines as well.
