I did not realize until I looked at the standings today but we are one game back of being tied for the last wild card spot. We are 4-5 and there are four teams tied at 5-4. Those four teams would currently get the three wildcard spots.

The spots are held by the Eagles, Giants, Packers and Falcons. The Giants are in free fall. The Falcons have lost several games recently. The Packers are erratic. The Eagles are pretty solid but did manage to lose to Oakland. The Eagles own the tiebreaker on us.

If we keep playing well I think we can get one of those three spots. Even though we have a tough schedule it looks like 9-7 might get us in. All the potential wild card teams have at least 4 losses so far, you have to think the last team in will have at least 7 losses.

Eagles also hold tiebreaker, as would Dallas if the situation changes.

Ideally, Dallas or Philly wins the East, and we beat NYG.

    And get really lucky.

Must be another one of those "uncapped year" things.

Obviously only 3 of the 4 teams would get in based on tie breakers. I thought you would get my point that all three wild card spots were within one game of our reach.

I hate to break it to you Thelt, but there's only 2 wildcard slots per conference in the NFL playoffs.
