If Houston is an every down back he would have been doing it IMO. He is not quick enough to get on the edge but he can go inside the tackles for the tough yardage.

Whether Houston could carry the load or not had very little to do with it, IMO. Even going back to his Miami days, Butch Davis has always believed in playing 2-3 RB's a game to keep their legs fresh and so he won't use them up before they can start their NFL careers, for the one's who were good enough.

And BTW, that UNC running game has really taken off in the last 3-4 games, so the overall stats are a bit misleading. Their struggles early in the season weren't because of the RB's anyway, it was all about injuries and inexperience on the O-line, as well as the passing game not being good enough to back those safeties off. Admittedly, that's still a bit of a problem, but they're starting to get the young WR's and O-linemen up to speed now. Brennan Williams and Travis Bond have been playing more and more snaps on the O-line lately, and the passing attack is starting to get decent, if not great, results.

    good take.

Houston won't be able to explode, but he can get yards and protect the ball. UNC will run more of those end arounds to Little and the other wide receivers to rest Houston.

So, does anybody still doubt Butch Davis? With this Miami win, that makes two top 15 teams they have beaten in the last 3 weeks, with a big rivalry win against Duke sandwiched in between. Not bad after all the injuries they have had on offense.

he still needs to beat NC State - me personally, I would like the win, but a bowl game and 8 wins is all I expect right now. 2 years from now, I think 9-10 wins will be expected, it doesn't matter who and how we get them. Unlike NC State, TOB can lose alot of games, as long as he beats UNC, he'll keep his job.

    :agreed:
Kendric Burney came up big for the Heels! 3 picks & taking one back for a score. Then, that wild play where Searcy picked one & "fumbled" it to Williams, who also scored.

Well as young as the offense is and with all of the injuries they just aren't going to be good period. When you lose Hakeem Nicks, Brooks Foster, Richard Quinn and Brandon Tate to the NFL and replace them with Freshmen, it's not going to end well.
