Something wicked this way came. Then it went in two days, but I never did get the full blown flu, but it was funky business. My head hurt so bad last night I couldn't sleep. I got up and took some motrin and phenergan and it was still hurting this morning, but I only had a couple of hours of sleep.
After much caffeine/motrin and food it stopped, but it's crawling back at the moment. I wanted to cry it hurt so bad.

Not to sound mean but any time you take a child to the doctors for a check up they have a chance of walking in healthy and walking out sick. A doctors office always has sick people in it no matter what time of the year you go. Chances are that if it is in the doctors office it is also in the schools. So unless it is a non school aged child or they are home schooled they are going to get it any how. Not to mention that it is in stores and banks. It is in every place you go everyday. So basically if they are going to get it... they are going to get it! Take common sense precautions like washing your hands and you should be okay.

Yeah, I know. BUT we are talking about H1N1. You know, the virus that is going to KILL US ALL!!!

BTW, My kids aren't in school yet.

Washing hands doesn't do to much for h1n1 as it is airborne.

I love the sarcasm in the second sentence. The last one is true but so is the regular plain old fashion flu that has been around for years and years. From what I am gathering there is not much of a difference between the two and most doctors are saying if you take the same precautions with the H1N1 as you do the regular flu you should be okay. If you get H1N1 the treatment is the same as it is for the regular flu as are the symptoms. The only ones who need to worry about dieing or complications from it are the same ones who need to worry about dieing from the regular flu as well. People with already weakened immune systems or other medical problems that cause the body to not be able to fight the virus. To tell you the truth the more research I do on the Swine Flu the more I am beginning to wonder if it is what the regular flu has been all along, just now with a new fancier name meant to cause mass paranoia and hysteria amongst the general population and to line the pockets of someone because of the vaccine. Then again I wear a tin hat regularly when it comes to anything the government or doctors say about certain things.

    Mercola is a quack. http://www.quackwatch.com/11Ind/mercola.html

This is why he makes certain to add this:
Please take a minute to read this:
    http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=2116
before taking anything Mercola says seriously. If he had his way nobody would be vaccinated for anything (including polio, MMR, pertussis etc.) and more often than not he twist previous scientific research to fit his own agenda.

    Also see this:http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=851

That said- the H1N1 scare may be over blown, but please don't trust Mercola for any medical information.

I read everything with my own opinion in mind. Especially from TBR posters. I read many different sides before I develope my own thoughts. That is why I said it was something to "chew on". I think most everyone in the medical fields are serving their own personal agendas and that is why you must do your own work.
