    he has a degree.

yeah you could take thelt's original "Quinn has enough potential that he was a consensus first round pick not long ago. He has been stuck on a bad team his whole career. I could see him being decent in the right system." and replace Quinn with lots of names, take out the first round pick part and Josh McCown fits.

Rex Grosman (jeez...the bears used a #1 on him)
    Joey Harrington
    Patrick Ramsey
    Tim Couch
    Akili Smith
    Cade McNown

All of those guys were first rounders in the past ten years...and at some point, you know someone thought they could remove the suckage from them.

Rex Grossman also lead the Bears to a Super Bowl. I don't think he's a fantastic QB, but he's not as bad as some of the people on the list.

I don't think Vince Young is terrible either.

Drew Brees was in that situation prompting them to draft Rivers. He panned out eventually though.....

Aaron Rogers was thought to be a bust by many not long ago. In any event we would probably not have to give up much to get him.

Drew Brees wasn't in that situation. He had a rough start to his career, but he clearly had talent.

How was Aaron Rogers a bust? Because he was stuck backing up Favre?

Technically it was Kyle Orton who led them to the superbowl. But realistically it was their defense.

not that I want to go with any of these guys. There's potential with any of them, but they're available for a reason.

That's nice consolation, well if he does suck at least we won't have to trade much from our already depleted picks.

Also these lists of 1st round suck have left out Alex Smith.

I'm not saying I'm a huge Quinn fan by any means, but he could be had cheap enough to develop into a player. There's gotta be SOME talent there or he'd have never been drafted so high. Its possible he could blossom in the right system. Am I saying "great" no, but Jake isn't nor has never been "great".
