Yeah, my brother and I got it within hours of each other. I was about 6 yrs. old and don't remember too much about it.

I was dreading going for my check up this past Monday because I thought the waiting room would be full of sick people. When I got there I was the only one there, and one other guy came in just before I was called back.

The office had taken all the books and magazines out of the waiting area to reduce the chance on passing along H1N1. I thought that was a good idea.

I had chicken pox when I was 16. The older you are when you have them the worse they are.

I had them in my eyes and in my mouth and in my nose. I had them all over my ummm... well, you know  I had a fever of 104 for days. It was hell. And to make it worse it was during spring break

    Chicken pox suck.

Has anyone ever heard of Guillain-Barre' Syndrome? It is associated with the vaccine. I am sorry but common sense people can help stop the spread of H1N1 just like common sense can stop the spread of the regular flu. I for one have never had a regular flu shot (only had the flu once when I was younger) and I am not going to have the H1N1 one either. Aggravating to Dr's since I am what they consider a high risk for catching such things dew to weakened lungs and other issues. I am betting that people will look back and say that most were worried for nothing! They survived it in the 70's. I am sure we can survive it now! People need to stop bubble rapping themselves and their children just because the government leads them to believe that it is the right thing to do. Do the research yourself and if you find that it is the right thing for you than go for it but don't let yourself be bullied into it!

I know this is true for most but I just had them this summer and it was not that bad. The only aggravating part was the itching. I know I am lucky because it could have come out as shingles or put me in the hospital but it did not. I always said I was a kid a heart but really did I have to get the chicken pox at my age to prove it?

I've never had a flu shot either. If I've ever had the flu I didn't know it, probably accepted it as being a very bad cold. I've been seeing the same GP doctor for over ten years and he's never pressed me to have one. Now, he did give me a pneumonia prevention shot without discussing it with me first this year. I think he's sincerely looking after my best interests and would give me shots if he thought they were necessary.

I just noticed that you had a section for this in here as well so I will ask the same thing I did on the other post. Does anyone know if the bird flu is still around and if it is still as lethal as it was portrayed to be? It seems like we go from one kind of flu outbreak to another.
