    It's also a good idea to put an onion in the neck whole.... That's how you get the beer flavor to stay in, rather than just evaporating out.

    apple juice is better than beer...or any fruit juice for that matter

    limeade, tequila, chili powder, minced garlic and chopped onion is better than beer too...or any fruit juice for that matter.

    it never really tastes like beer, there's just something about it that guys think is cool to do...makes no difference if it's just water

    It's just steam and I dont think beer steam has a whole lot of flavor.

    maybe, but fruit juice is generally more flavorful than the typical beer that would be sacrificed
