obtain whole chicken, remove innards and trim flappy skin from nether region area
wash, inside and out, pat dry with paper towel
apply your favorite rub, inside and out (i like cajun)
build charcoal fire in grill or turn on the gas. indirect heat is a must here.
    300 degrees works for me
open beer, take a real good pull (REAL good)
stuff can into ass cavity and stand bird up on grill, using the legs/can action, like a tripod. dont place bird over coals or flames.
cook for about 1.5 hours, rotating bird 360 degrees halfway through
remove bird from grill, being careful not to spill beer everywhere like i did
separate bird from beer can. thats it
    lol

i forgot to add the step about closing your grill up after you put the bird in. just sayin'

I need to try this. I wondered if I can just do that on the smoker or would it be about the same to just fill the water pan with beer? I've been wearing my smoker out lately.

Chickens last week. Ribs two days ago and a shoulder tommorow.

What's the point in rotating the bird 360 degrees?
