I'm starting to hate Martin.

 

He doesn't seem to be in any hurry to finish from what I've seen. Maybe he's killed off too many characters and doesn't know what the fuck to do next..

 

He wrecked his series right off the bat by killing his best character.

I just sent the old fucker a scathing e-mail. My last one (about a year ago) got him pretty steamed and I got a good pissed off response, so if you hear about him having a heart attack, sorry. If I get anything back from him, I'll post it here.

No, I e-mailed him from work ( I don't work there anymore), but I basically just said something about the 5th book being mentioned as going to be finished by the end of 2007, and that Amazon had it listed as going to be available by September 30th of 2008 and was he going to ever finish it. Not even really that inflammatory, but he responded and said that he was still writing it and they should not have the release date on the website and that his publishers would know before Amazon would and yes, he was planning on finsihing it if people would "not keep interrupting him", or something like that.

Anyway, his e-mail will come up on one of his website links, it's

E-mail him. I asked him this time if it was going to be finished before I (or he) died, and there was no point in watching a series about it with no ending. No response yet.

 

Every time I see a new post to this thread, I expect to see :

"....has died, and his series will either go incomplete, or be finished by his untalented hack nephews and nieces..."

 

Seriously, I finished the fourth book SO long ago...
