    thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure no one has ever had a grilled ham, cheese and tomato sandwich.

    first of all, it's "sammich". Only geeks and losers use the word sandwich.

    anyway, from what I can gather, you take some "maters" (cool-speak for tomatoes) and slice them up. then you lay them between two slices of bread to form your sammich. JB adds his maters to ham and cheese and toasts his sammich. When he's feeling really wild and crazy, and if there's a sale going on at Food Loin, he tosses in a handful if Bong cherries.

    For some reason the tomatoes out of the garden this year tasted better than usual. No explanation for it since I grew 'em the same as I do every year. Just enough acidity to add that extra bite to them. I'll miss those maters soon..

    seems like it took ours forever to ripen now ten turn red every night.

    I think I'm officially sick of tomato sandwiches. That's about all we use them for.

    That'll probably be my case. My vine has beem loaded with green tomatoes for over a week, and blooms.
