Anyone else watch this as a kid? Was on ABC in early 70's so that probably knocks a good number of people out. Johnny Depp has signed on to play Barnabis Collins in Tim Burtons production. Hope it's as good as the series

I think the Chillers channel still reruns Dark Shadows in the morning during the week.

They remade it in the early 90s. Ben Cross was Barnabas, Adrian Paul was in it as well as Joanna Going. It was pretty good but it came out just before the gulf war started and got bad ratings cause everyone was watching CNN.

I was a Dark Shadows junkie. It actually started in the mid-60's...I had just started school and I absolutely had to be in front of the TV after school at 3:30p to watch it.

Oh yeah. I remember like it was yesterday literally running off the school bus into the house to sit down and watch it

the sci-fi network actually ran a complete series of the origionals back in the late 90's, from beginning to end. i thought it was better when it was still in black and white, i saw almost every episode throughout the entire series. they kinda lost me when they got to the point in the show where they created the Frankenstien knock-off, Adam. Angelique and that other, sinister looking dude, were kinda stale too. i remember the later episodes where Barnabas went to Hell, talk about jumping the shark. lol

I loved Dark Shadows, especially all the Barnabas episodes. Angelique was the witch that turned Barnabas into a vampire. Dr. Julia Hoffman was always trying to cure Barnabas and Willie Loomis was Barnabas's right hand man. Barnabas was in love with someone who looked like his long-lost Josette from another time period. I believe Willie is the one who found Barnabas chained in his coffin. David Shelby played a werewolf on the show & Kate Jackson was a ghost who never spoke. Rev. Trask was always after Barnabas thru-out the series. The theme music was classic creepy also!
