Gary Williams....

I don't pay for the satellite radio...so was just wondering how Gary Williams' show is doing? I listened to it for a couple of days on a free trial. Seemed he was transitioning well.

Losing him was the worst thing to happen to WFNZ in a long time b/c I ruined the whole station...

Mac was bearable during the lunch time....but in the morning it's too much...

Frank and Buc are terrible....how they can be on the radio for 5 straight hours is unbelievable...

Pac's show has its moments.....still the best thing on the station

but Williams leaving made a sub-par station nearly unlistenable...

 

I think DJ Stout should make Mac sit and listen to his show everyday after it's over. I believe if he heard himself, his show would get better or he'd jump out in front of a light rail car.

Same goes for Buc and Garcia.

I tried to listen recently on the way to work in the morning and on the way home. I lasted for about 2 minutes until Mac made me wince
and it was back to country radio. On the way home, I flipped over to Packer and he was talking to Johnny from Effingham, who had called in from Hilton Head.....unbearable & stupid.....

You know, I'm learning to like country music.....

 

I have listened to the Morning Show maybe once or twice after Gary left. Ears started bleeding almost instantly upon hearing Mac's voice. I don't wish failure on Gary, but I wouldn't mind if it meant his return to FNZ.

 

Williams was at the top of the heap, but it was a heap of shit. It's like being the best pitcher on the Washington Nationals.

Gresh was on Mad Dog Radio this morning, not sure if Williams was vacation or got the boot.

 

Mad Dog is off this week, so the show hosts have rotated around. Gary has inherited the 2-7 slot. After last Friday's show where Mad Dog blasted everyone, it was interesting over the weekend and into Monday, but that has died down.

I think only Gresh's show is worth listening to on that channel, but I've always liked him on the radio. National radio with no real focus is hard to pull off because you can't focus on one market or sport or team. Czaban's show on Fox is pretty good too as he doesn't talk too much sports (I prefer the "guy radio" type of show than just straight sports 24/7 if I have to listen to a personality rather than a particular content focus.)

NFL radio is great to me because you have a little more focus (and obviously I like the NFL). If I liked baseball more, I would love to listen to the MLB Channel. The great thing about satellite radio is that most of the channels focus on something you like, whether it be a type of music, an artist, comedy, financial, specific sports, etc.

I'll take the CNBC channel over Mac or Parker eight days of the week. I actually get more Panthers news on Sirius than I do in the Charlotte market, which makes me sad.

 

Wonder what Yarbro and Jensen meant this afternoon when they both started to say something about changes coming? Then of course they decided to move on acting like it almost never came up.

 

On a side note, I have gotten hooked on the Dan LeBatard show on 790 AM in Miami (believe it's www.790theticket.com) from 3-7 in the evening. They are hilarious and the stuff they play in commercial breaks is great too. They have a lot of fun and I enjoy it as a distraction in the office.

It's not for everyone, I warn you.

 

I think Williams has been in STL for the all-star game this week. I heard that mad dog rant, that guy sound like the biggest yankee douche ever.

during the Panthers season is when I will really miss Williams. He did his homework,was prepared, had an opinion, and could really talk Panthers for hours on a Monday, unlike Packer who has to talk SEC football for hours on end on....which might be fine if Charlotte was a SEC town. Im scared of the Monday mornings with Mclain. his show sucks,lets face it. He seems like a nice guy,and hopefully he takes the opprotunity to show he can lead a show when its not all beavis and butthead radio. he will have the first crack at everyones ears on a local level after a Panthers win or loss. I hope that doesnt get in the way of a "Dirty MR. Rogers" segment.
