I am tempted to trade in my car I just paid off for something nicer. I still have lots of credit card debt. Tell me how stupid that would be please.

It's a buyers market on the 08 & 09's. Go as extravagant as you possibly can...Ford Excursion possibly... :xyxthumbs:

Is there anything wrong with the car you paid off? If not, keep it and enjoy not making car payments.

    Well played!!!

Thelt, add the depreciation on top of the payment you will have and you start to get a picture of how bad it is. Not to mention you are likely paying anywhere from 8-27% on your credit cards and you really need to get rid of that situation. Keeping that going on top of the payment and on top of the depreciation you will have is like a triple double of bad decisions!

Pay off the credit cards as quickly as possible. Keep the car and everytime you pass by a car nicer than yours, try to guess their payment and realize that it isn't you paying that every month for 4-5 years.

I think I got that out of my system now. Cars are my weak point. The title to my car came in the mail yesterday and actually holding it in my hand was a nice feeling.
