heard on 610WIP (philly's Sportstalk radio) Vlad Radmonovic & Nazr Mohammed to the 76ers for Sam Dalembert. Also some exchange of draft picks not disclosed. Thoughts from Bobcats fans?

Does not sound good to me. What is the length of Dalembert's contract? Could it be a way to clear so cap room?

Team president Ed Stefanski declined to address a trade rumor that would have embattled center Samuel Dalembert going to the Bobcats for forward Vladimir Radmanovic and center Nazr Mohammed, with the Sixers also getting either a second-round pick in the June 25 draft or swapping first-rounders (No. 17 for 12).

“Sorry,” said Stefanski in an e-mail response. “I don’t talk about trades. We are talking to a lot of teams, especially before the draft.”

It works from a salary standpoint, even with Dalembert’s 15 percent trade kicker added. Dalembert has two years and $23.6 million left on his contract after this season, compared to Radmanovic and Mohammed’s combined $26.7 million over the next two years – assuming Radmanovic picks up his $6.9 million player option in 2010-11.

Charlotte is coached by Larry Brown, who drafted Dalembert and tends to like his former players a lot more when they become his former players.

The 6-foot-10 Radmanovic, 28, has averaged 9.1 points and shot 38.4 percent from 3-point land in his seven-year career. He averaged 6.9 points and shot 40.1 percent beyond the arc last season for the Lakers and Bobcats.

The 31-year-old Mohammed, who began his 10-year career with the Sixers before he was traded to the Hawks in the Dikembe Mutombo deal, averaged 2.7 points in 39 games last season. His career numbers are 6.8 points and 5.4 rebounds.

Last season, Dalembert had his lowest averages in scoring (6.4), field goal percentage (49.8) and minutes (24.8) since his rookie campaign of 2001-02.

During his June 1 news conference in which he was introduced as head coach of the Sixers, Eddie Jordan said, “(The possibility of Dalembert) not being here, that’s Ed’s responsibility. If he’s in the locker room, we’ll do our best to get him involved in the offense. If it doesn’t happen, then you have other alternatives. He may be just a spot player. If he doesn’t accept that, then there are other alternatives after that.”

I'd do it but I don't want to swap draft picks. Dalembert would become the starting center moving Okafor over, and having Diop play behind him. We'd have a legit front court for the first time ever. Dalembert had a bad year this year but he's been pretty decent up until then.

I wanted to see Bobcats fans reaction before adding my two cents. I'm a Sixers fan living here with Bobcats season tickets, so they are the two teams I follow the most.

Sam Dalembert is basketball IQ retarded. He will get you 15-20-6 blocks one game, then disappear the next five. He cannot accept the fact that he has no post move, and sucks ass on offense. He is consistently in the wrong place on offense. He could be an all-star center in the east if he simply accepted his role of putting back shots, blocking shots, and rebounding. He most likely will never understand this. He is incredible athletic, but entirely delusional of who he is as a basketball player. Larry Brown is one of the few coaches the might be able to get a little more out of him, but I doubt he'll ever get close to his potential.

As far as the Sixers, it'd at the least be a salary dump and Radmo could help their league worst 3 pt shooting (along with the addition of all time great Bobcat Jason Capono). Nazr sucks, but Sammy has sucked too. Doesn't get them out of basketball purgatory (5-7 seed in the East) but at least makes them a little more flexible.

I don't know why those in the Charlotte media are so eager to give up the few Bobcats worth a damn for pennies on the dollar. That trade would definitely be a white flag to fans. Also it is shocking that Sam makes more than Okafor.

Okafor is more suited to play the 5 even if he is a bit undersized. I do not think a plan to acquire a player to move him to the 4 is wise. On top of that Okafor can rebound and play defense but not a great offensive player. We would be adding another player of the same type.

I think the group they have now can be a playoff team if they can stay healthy all year. They could use a guy who can get his own shot.

It sets up the rumor I saw somewhere about Okafor to OKC for the #2 and some throw in.
