Watch and learn, live. Passion of the Christ was a fantastic movie, as far as movies go. God's forgiven people of the world. To accept Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation.

Going to church and being a good person cannot get you to heaven. If it could, then Jesus Christ wouldn't have had to die on the cross. We have to place our faith in Him and what He did on the cross to pay for our sins.

Please take the time to read this first post and pray that prayer to God at the bottom of it if you haven't yet.

If you can confirm for Playa there will be > 28 virgins waiting for him when he gets to heaven, he may take you up on that request.

When a person dies his/her soul goes to heaven.

Problem is... some souls go to the opposite/bad side of the gulf. An example is in Luke 16:20-25 talking about the rich man that knew not God and was on the bad side of gulf looking across the gulf at Lazarus (beggar) and pleading with them to go and tell his brothers, etc about this place.....

A problem, though, is that some Christians will use this as a Get Out Of Jail Free card. Christianity, and organized religion in general, does a number of great things for society, but some of the most screwed up people I know also claim to be Christians. The idea that all sins will be forgiven can keep people from changing patters of behavior.

B&B...I can understand your point about "all sins will be forgiven can keep people from changing their behavior".

I have friends that are Baptist and believe "Once Saved Always Saved". Well, this is true...but, once you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior does not give you the right to go out to rob, rape, plunder on a continuous basis. Once you commit a sin you are to ask forgiveness and refrain from doing that sin again. Once you are saved a person can fall so far away from their relationship with God that He will not listen to your prayers. Israel at one time fell so far away from God that He divorced Israel.

It still happens, though. People can misuse religion in the same way people can misuse painkillers. And even after a person continues to make horrible choices, they always have a chance to be forgiven.

Screwing up your whole life but still getting to heaven because you've accepted Jesus Christ as your savior doesn't sound like the path to heaven. Frankly, that sounds more like a way into a country club. The implication that someone like that can get to heaven, over someone who's led a good life but doesn't believe in Jesus, just doesn't sit well with me. It's true that everyone makes mistakes, but being a Christian doesn't give someone the authority to make more mistakes than the average person.

On a broader, sociological scale, I don't think the idea of forgiveness is such a great thing for society. I think a lot of the problems we're facing right now are a result of people getting too many second chances.
