1 of them called 30 minutes ago - a "supervisor". Quote "We're sorry sir, this was only meant for people who have not managed their accounts responsibly and you were selected by mistake", or some shit like that. . Your rate will be returned to your original 6% rate, and sorry for any inconvenience. HA!

Costco has never done that to my account. Been using them for 4 years to get gas and they have never once put an $80 hold on my account. Used to have an account with BAC and now have one with a Credit Union. Never had a hold on either (except for the amount of gas I got which I can see on my pending transactions and they only hold the actual amount I got not $80).

    Where do YOU live?
People who pay off their cc bills in full each month, not incurring interest charges - are considered leeches by cc companies and they want to make those "good credit" people PAY.

I've already had cc's decide to start charging an annual fee where there wasn't before - closed that sucker down.

I just read somewhere, some guy had a cc, didn't use it, used to check every month to make sure no one stole it & run up charges on it but after a while he forgot. Several months later he checks to find out that card started to charge a fee and he was late on it etc... ended up costing him like $100 for NOT USING it. That's some shit.

I'll admit, I have too many damn credit cards but I only actively use 2. I had started to close cc's I didn't use but then found out this hurts you because your overall credit limit is reduced but then again, I carry no balance so my debt to limit ratio should be the same - 0%.

I just can't say goodbye to cc's period and they do come in handy for unexpected emergencies (been there, done that).

Currently, the card I use the most has a reward system - I pay off this card as soon as I charge on it and I'm earning points like a fiend on it. I'm going to get myself a visa card and use it to pay for gas/food/whatever. THAT is 'free money'. Earning points on stuff I charge for everyday and pay off each time so I never pay interest. If THIS card ever gets closed... :puppy_dog_eyes:

SilverSurfer, glad it worked out for you!

I would never use BofA for anything. Not after the nightmare one of my relatives went through with them.
