Raised my interest rate on 2 cards from 6% and 8% to 18%. I called and raised hell told them I wouldn't ever pay them again, and won't unless they lower the rates. They said it was a "business decision". I told them "bad decision". Never late, never been over my limit. Fuck them. :fu1:

I keep waiting for them to raise mine or at least cut my limit. If they are waiting on me to buy a new car using my card and then jack up my rate they will be waiting for a long time.

They're screwing themselves. They have no collateral and you can't be sued unless you're served by a sheriff, I already called my attorney and he told me he wouldn't worry about it, that I would probably get a letter soon agreeing to reduce the rate. I'll either never be here, or just not answer the door, if it ever goes that far.

This is why they can really suck!

For the record, told them to piss off a long time ago and paid those suckers off. They can raise my rate to 145% for all I care as I haven't used a credit card in more than 2 years (if I buy a house soon, I will close every single one of them as well).

    Where do YOU live?
Were you given the option to reject the new terms? If so, can't you pay off the balance under your original APR's (6% & 8%)?

Read several articles today that before the new 'laws' that just came about which don't go into affect till 2010 - credit card companies are going to be raising rates/fees/start charging annual fees etc... trying to milk all they can before those new laws go into effect.

It'll eventually bite them in the ass (here's hoping!) Capital One just up and suspended my account due to inactivity. This isn't the 1st time I've had an inactive card but the others send me a letter saying if I don't use it by so & so date they'll close my account. Capital One just said screw it. I closed that account and then called one of my other cards and got the limit raised.

I'm waiting for the day Capital One sends those pre-approved offers again, and they will, and I'm going to tell them to take a hike.

What was the reason? I wouldn't end it with "business decision". They use universal default or something?

BofA halfed my credit limit and I have a FICO score in the upper 700s, never been late, but also pay my card off each month. No biggie though as I didn't need that much credit anyway.

I canceled an AMEX card since I haven't used it in over a year. I don't care if it dings my score a little bit.

They'll just ruin your credit. But if you don't need credit for a while then no biggie. Oh, I'd get a new attorney also.
