Considering what happened in Jake's last home game here, how long does it take for a fan meltdown if he comes out and plays crappy his first couple of games ?
If he throws 3 pix vs. Philly, is the stadium on fire shortly after ? (Since there really is no option B.)

I think this is the chemistry issue we need to worry about, rather than lazy Pep coming back. We all need jake to start semi-decent, or the season explodes.

Fans exploding is meaningless to team chemistry.

Would it affect the team? Yes, but it'd have nothing to do with fan reaction. The decision of what to do would be made by Fox. He's shown repeatedly that he doesn't care much for fan opinion.

hard to say. The AZ game puts additional pressure. A lot of people were worried coming into 2008 and were plenty happy with him through two wins that he performed very average.

    Wins go a long way.

If he keeps displaying the judgement he showed in the AZ game it won't take the fans long to turn on him in a big way. We don't need a gunslinger at QB and I hope he understands that by now. All we need is a QB to manage the game, make some decent throws and hand the ball to DW and Stew without making boneheaded turnovers.

    This, too.
Peppers not showing up while everyone's working, studying, getting ready, and then getting up to 46x more in pay (#s run v/s the other RDE, Johnson) than some of the guys gutting it out day in, day out, sure, it could cause some anymosity.

I don't see any Jake issue causing legitimate concerns with more than fans. The guys behind him, there's enough weight there that there's not much room for dissent.

I am sure the players remember the season with David Carr at the helm and are willing to risk an occasional bad game from Jake. He is not going to have a lot of games like the one in the playoffs but he is going to have a few. Lets hope it never happens in a playoff game again.

That game was as much about our defense getting shredded and getting away from the run game as it was Jake's melt down. If we put him in a position to have to try and win a shoot out with the passing game he is not going to beat Kurt Warner very often.

I feel there will be pressure on jake and fox with this year's tough schedule for the quarterback to protect the ball and manage the game behind our running game . Jake needs to throw the ball away or run and not force the ball into double or triple coverage and fox needs to pull bad jake before the game is lost.
