You apparently don't visit Pack Pride where plenty of Tar Heels do give a 'rats ass' apparently. Look, there is absolutely nothing else to discuss right now. The only thing of relevance with any North Carolina ACC school is the fact that one of your signees just got nailed for multiple felonies and some of your signees may not make it in. Not exactly worrisome for us but noteworthy to discuss. Good Lord you boys are tightly wound up recently. I mean, I am still dealing with UNC fans making jokes about people getting shot around Carter Finley and you boys can't handle us knocking your statutory rapist (among other felonies) signee.

Well, I have read through the football discussions on the NC State scout board a couple of times (whatever it's called), and it amazes me that almost every thread I've seen there ends up in a Tar Heel bash fest even though the original post had nothing to do with the Tar Heels. It makes me laugh, to tell you the truth. I mean, you just beat us two years in a row and most of you can't even enjoy it because you're too busy trying to dig up all the dirt you can find on Butch Davis and all of his players.

Trust me, I'm not wound up at all. I was actually just trying to make you guys see just how silly this stuff is. By all means though, continue on, if that's what floats your boat.

Given Butch's mess, you can actually do both. How many 41-10s have you seen on here just from us? Heck, Franchise will post it for us most times.

Like I said, what else should we be discussing in May on a college football board where most of us are UNC-CH or NCSU fans (since you can't find a WFU football fan and Duke's fanbase resides in New Jersey)?

Here... let's break this down... simple like.

You're an NC State fan that's having to come to a Tar Heel thread, because no one outside of the 3 of you could give a damn about NC State in your own little thread.

Must be lonely at the bottom, and the best you've got to do is compare me to other Tar Heel fans? Not a problem. Because at least we pull for a team that wins on occassion.

LOL!! The Tar Heel fans to go to Pack Pride do it just to make fun of the PP Posters. Its discussed regularly in the Inside Carolina boards. They enjoy getting a rise outta the State fans.

You think they care?? No one cares about you.

Racism prompts N.C. State student to move on (To NCCU or NCA&T)

DURHAM -- A Durham resident who attends N.C. State University is so upset about the racist writings on the wall of the university's Free Expression Tunnel that he plans to transfer after the spring semester.

Leroy Kelley III, a Wolfpack junior, said he is considering N.C. Central and N.C. A&T universities
as alternatives to the unfriendly environment at N.C. State where he said administrators appear tolerant of the racially hostile acts of the four students responsible for the writings.

The writings at the center of the controversy included such racially inflammatory statements as "Let's shoot that [n-word] in the head" and "Hang Obama by a Noose."

"Doing nothing to the writers is tolerating racism," Kelley said. "I'm going to finish out the year and then transfer."

Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, N.C. State officials could not be reached for comment.

Kelley is one of 995 students from Durham County enrolled at N.C. State, whose African-American student population is 8.9 percent. Only 2,809 of the university's 32,877 students are black.

Kelley said Barack Obama's election as president seemed to bring out the worst in some students. He said an Obama election poster placed on the door of his apartment didn't last very long.

"Within an hour, people came by and ripped it to shreds," Kelley said.

The identities of the students responsible for the writings in the Free Expression Tunnel have been kept secret. They have apologized and the university's counsel has determined that there are no legal grounds on which to expel them. The students, however, have agreed to participate in diversity training and to take community service assignments.

In the weeks since the incident occurred, it has caused robust debate about what is appropriate speech on a college campus. While some think the students' writings are covered by the First Amendment, others think they clearly crossed the line into hate speech.

"It's a fundamental question about what kind of campus life we're going to have," said The Rev. William J. Barber II, president of the state NAACP chapter. "This is not graffiti. This is hate speech designed to create a hostile environment."

Barber met with UNC system President Erskine Bowles on Tuesday to discuss the matter. Bowles favors establishing a commission to look into whether schools in the UNC system should establish a code to bar hate speech.

Allowing such speech to hide behind the First Amendment actually steps on the free speech rights of other students on campus, Barber said. He said many students, black and white, were fearful after the writings appeared and stopped wearing their political T-shirts in support of Obama.

"By allowing this kind of hate speech ... it actually does the opposite," Barber said. "It stifles and silences legitimate free speech."

Barber said N.C. State officials who contend the writings are covered under the First Amendment, should be willing to allow similar speech in classrooms, on students' clothing and in university publications.

"If that's free speech, how do you confine it to a wall," Barber said. "You can't say it's free speech then paint over it. Either it is or it isn't."

Although their efforts were not enough to change his mind, Kelley said he and other black students at State appreciate the thoughtfulness of white students who rallied at the Free Expression Tunnel to show that they will not tolerate racism.

"It eased the kind of fear that a lot of people had because we saw that there were white people just as angry as we are," Kelley said.
