Anyone going this week? No more Wachovia due to the economy but still a first class runned tourney. Went with one of my best friends and his 13 year old daughter. She got her ball cap autographed by Angel Cabbrera (sp), Adam Scott, Rory Sabitinni just to name a few. Absolutely fantastic weather

Just got back from the Pro Am. My gf volunteers out there so we get some tickets, it's a fun time every year. Didn't seem to be hurting from lack of sponsor. Great to see Tiger back, can't wait to go on Sat/Sun.

I got to play out there 2 weeks ago. I think the guys will go lower this year. It is playing a little shorter than in the past and the rough is not as long.

Apparently we played the tournament setup so it should be the same. They are auditioning the course for the PGA of America this week in hope of landing a PGA championship or Ryder Cup so I think they want it to play less like a US open course and give up more birdies.

A buddy of mine told me something similar. QH wants a US Open and they are willing to give up a yearly PGA tour stop.

This can't be right!?!?? $40-60M/yr or 1 Major?

    Has anyone else heard this?

Can you watch online this year. I think it was last year they had a webcam on one hole (17th?).

I think they have moved away from wanting a US open. I know the PGA of America is there this week to scout it as a possible Ryder Cup or PGA championship venue. They don't have anything to do with the US Open. The USGA handles that.

The Ryder Cup would be awesome. I'd love to see that in Charlotte. Of course I'd also love to see the PGA Championship here at some point, but not at the expense of the yearly event. This is one of the handful of events that Tiger Woods plays that isn't a major, they should ride that gravy train until he retires. It's not worth it to give up a decade's worth of Tiger appearances for 1 or 2 PGA Championships that Tiger may play here.

Tiger shot a 7 under 65 today, he currently leads by three shots.

GT alum Matt Kuchar tied for second at 4 under through 15.
