just heard that on the radio. DP was the best sports writer at the Observer, IMO.

Going by his name, I'd say his sperm was instrumental in the creation of restrictor plate racing.

Unless cars are wrecking A LOT NASCAR is boring as hell. Talladega was the best race I have watched in years, mainly because I get dizzy watching them go around in circles for hours. Fortunately the BIG ONE came on lap eight= awesome. The I tuned back in for the end and BLAMO. I loved the Ricky Bobby run to the finish line. Kudos Talladega and restrictor plates that bunch them up at 190mph.

That's because you have no idea what you're looking at. Saying that all they are doing is riding around in circles proves your ignorance of what's going on in the big picture, but that's okay. There are things I don't care for either.

serious question...did nascar just fall off the face of the earth?

I'm not complaining but it seems it disappeard from the media nearly completely.

they used to try to cram it's new popularity down your throat and it's nowhere anymore

there have been entire banks of empty seats (mostly back stretch) at alot of races this year. we were watching the firecracker 400 at daytona on the 4th and the place was half full at best. i think that is more a reflection of the bad economy than anything else. but i do agree chip, the sport is taking a dive, regardless of the economy.

the tv package is weird this year too. nbc carried the first third, now its on tbs (wtf?), and espn picks up the last block, during the points chase. they'll probably really pile on the hype.

    i still follow it though.
